From the hospital room to their own front door
A discharge is not a normal ride. Your loved one may be weak, on new medication, or under orders not to walk far. The hospital wants the bed, you want them home safely, and a regular car cannot do the job. We send the right vehicle and a trained attendant who stays with them from the room, through the lobby, into the vehicle, and all the way inside the house.
If you are coordinating from another city or another state, we are built for that too. You book by phone, we handle everything on the ground, and we close the loop with a call when they are home.
Every discharge ride includes
- Wheelchair van or stretcher, matched to the discharge orders
- A trained attendant from the hospital door to inside the home
- Coordination with the nurse or case manager on timing
- A text when the driver is on the way
- A call confirming your loved one arrived home safely
- Bookable from anywhere. Many of our callers are out of state
“An excellent business! I used ETA to bring a family member home after a hospital stay. I was calling from Chicago & was worried the plan would not go smoothly. I was totally wrong… this company was professional, kind, understanding, punctual & engaged from start to finish. I received a text when the driver was on his way, and an actual call reporting that our family member arrived safely. That's customer service above & beyond… thank you ETA.”
Discharge day, without the scramble
Call us when discharge is planned
The patient's name, the hospital and floor, the equipment level, and the address they are going home to. We take it from there and quote the trip up front.
We coordinate the pickup
We work with the nurse or case manager on timing so the patient is not sitting dressed and waiting for hours, and we adjust if the paperwork runs late.
Home, all the way inside
Our attendant brings the patient from the room to the vehicle, secures them for the ride, and helps them all the way into the house. Not to the curb. Inside.
A transport partner who picks up the phone
You call, a dispatcher answers, and the ride is confirmed while you are still on the line. No broker queue, no call center, no wondering whether the driver will show. When your patient needs a different equipment level at the last minute, the same dispatcher solves it.
- One dispatch number that a person actually answers
- Wheelchair and stretcher levels from the same dispatcher
- Reliable pickup windows that keep beds moving
- HIPAA-conscious handling of patient information
- Facility accounts with simple consolidated billing
- Licensed, insured, and background-checked crews

Common questions
How quickly can you pick up a discharged patient?
Call as soon as discharge is discussed and we will hold a window. We take same-day discharge trips whenever availability allows, and we adjust timing when the hospital paperwork runs late, which it usually does.
Can you handle a stretcher discharge?
Yes. If the patient cannot sit upright we send a stretcher vehicle with a trained two-person crew for a full bed-to-bed transfer, from the hospital bed to their own bed at home.
I live out of state. Can I arrange my parent's discharge ride from there?
Yes, families do this with us all the time. You book by phone from wherever you are, we coordinate directly with the hospital, and you get a text when the driver is en route and a call when your parent is home safe.
Why can't the hospital just call a rideshare?
Patients who had sedation or anesthesia generally cannot be released to a rideshare driver alone. Most surgery and endoscopy centers require a responsible adult to take them home. And many discharge patients need more than a ride: a wheelchair van or stretcher, help getting into the house, and someone trained to assist. That is exactly what we send.
Do you take discharges to rehab, skilled nursing, or assisted living?
Yes. We handle hospital to home, hospital to rehab or skilled nursing, facility to facility, and rehab back home. Any leg of the journey, wheelchair or stretcher.
How does payment work for a discharge ride?
We quote the full price on the phone before you book. We are private pay with cash and major cards, and we set up account billing for facilities that discharge with us regularly.
